Fresh Foods is a dining hall located in the Moody Towers Resident Hall and is one of two dining hall serving residents and commuters alike. To the residents of Moody Towers, it is also known as the dining hall that The Dining Hall that Never Sleeps because it always has its lights constantly on. It is also the inspiration for this project. We learned that this dining hall uses incandescent light bulbs and is in the process of switching over to CREE LEDs.  Below are the hours of operation:

 

 

Monday - Thursday: 7:00 am - 12:00 am

Friday: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm

Saturday: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm

If the University were to switch the light bulbs in the High Ceiling Area and Seating Area in Fresh Foods from the Compact Fluorescent Bulbs the school would only save $192.72 as opposed to saving $4070.76 and $3064.25 in the High Ceiling and Seating Areas respectively. Despite CFLs having a cheaper price (about 10 times less) than CREE LEDs the long term savings of the CREE LED far exceeds that of CFLs.
